Our laws here in Canada are appalling. Children are our most precious responsibility. Our justice system has a responsibility and a duty to protect them but has fallen very short in doing so. We as Canadian Citizens have to make the change by demanding the laws be changed. We have some of the most lenient laws when it comes to protecting our kids. There is no Registry of Sexual Offenders in Canada, the law states ( at least in Ontario) that the legal age of consent is 14 years of age. What is wrong with this picture? Now add to that the pitiful laws regarding this. It makes me embarrassed to be a Canadian. How can we fail out children likes this? Time has come for change and accountability.

Sentencing in Canada for child sex offenders is simply too lenient. Because these offenders are potentially destroying a life, the sentencing should be similar to those applied to offences under Section 229 of the Criminal Code. What we have now is little more than an insulting sick joke.
